The Local Honeys
Kentucky Old Time musicians, The Local Honeys sing with a power and fearlessness that sets them far apart from their contemporaries. Comprised of Linda Jean Stokley and Montana Hobbs with fiddler Megan Gregory guesting for the festival, the group describe their sound as “bluegrass kissing the mountains.”
The duo have dedicated themselves to the preservation of old music and the creation of new tunes. Their songwriting doesn’t shy away from more difficult subjects, as reflected on their debut recording, Little Girls Actin’ Like Men. On record and live, The Honey’s ability to tear into hard driving fiddle tunes, sing the high lonesome sound, and tell a damn good story is the reason why audiences around the world are clamoring for more.
